Looking for a meaningful way to give back to your community? Chebucto Connections is looking for passionate volunteers to mentor and tutor youth in our afterschool program! 🌟

Whether you love helping with homework, sharing your skills, encouraging young people, or simply being a positive role model, we want you!

You don’t need to be an expert or have a specific background –  just a passion for supporting youth and making a difference. Volunteers receive training and orientation to help you feel confident and prepared.

Placement Students

The Pathways program hosts dozens of placement students each year that come from a broad range of disciplines and academic backgrounds. We have relationships with NSCC, SMU, Dalhousie, MSVU and other trades and vocational institutes. We have hosted students from Social Services, Child and Youth Studies, Nutrition, Criminology, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Medicine, Education and more.

If you’re interested in pursuing a placement, practicum or service learning with an exciting youth education program, Pathways is an excellent choice. We offer training and orientation and ongoing support to our placement students. Students are supervised by our Volunteer Coordinator who has a wealth of  experience supporting university students in gaining workplace experience. Practicums can be experiential or project based, and are generally tailored to the student and their program.
