DESCRIPTION:Don’t Shop\, Swap!!\n\n\nThe event is free but registration is required. Follow the link for more details and to register!!\n\n\nRegister Here\n\n\nThis barter-based event is an opportunity to get new\, like-new\, or lightly used items out of your house\, and to explore other people’s contributions for things you can use. Bring one or more items that you think would make a good gift for someone else. Our hope is to support connections in a caring community and reduce waste. There will be lots of time for conversations. \nTo help individuals and families get ready for the beginning of the school year\, we would like to welcome school supplies\, clothes\, backpacks\, storage accessories and sports equipment. \nHow does it work? \nWe will take a brief moment to say welcome\, then in small groups\, we will invite people to take one item from the tables. After everyone has had the chance to select a few items\, attendees are free to take any other items they can use. If something you brought doesn’t get taken\, you’re free to take it home again. Any items left at the end of the swap will be donated to Hand n Hand. \nSuggestions: \n*Items you were gifted and won’t use \n*Gift items you bought “just in case” and never found someone to give to \n*Books read by careful readers \n*Lightly used jewelry or accessories \n*Lightly used and like-new toys \n*Puzzles with all their pieces \n*Gently-used board games \n*Preserves\, jams\, jellies\, mixes\, etc (not expired\, please.) \n* Craft supplies \nAbout Life.School.House \nFolkschools are informal learning spaces in communities where neighbours become teachers\, sharing arts and traditional skills in small group workshops. Our barter-base folkschools facilitate learning exchanges and make strong and lasting connections between participants.
